The Swiss-born tattoo artist originally studied psychology at the university and later continued his studies, focusing on the graphic design of the famous ECAL school in Lausanne. In 2006, Maxime Plescia-Büchi opened his first studio and later turned it into a multidisciplinary media platform, creative agency and magazine. Even though Sang Bleu has achieved great success, Büchi still designs and paints tattoos in his studio, occasionally working with resident tattoo artists.
His work is widely recognized around the world for its iconic symmetrical lines and geometric figures, often inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. Stars such as Kanye West or FKA Twigs often ask him to provide creative services for tattoo or logo design.
Hublot's Sang Bleu
When the Sang Bleu series was launched in 2016, two were originally released. At first glance, it may remind you of the hard-to-learn math books in the school, but the hexagonal mismatched bezel is perfect for octagonal time and minute wheels. Also, there is no need to worry or flash back to the algebra course because the watch is very easy to understand and looks really cool on the wrist.
The mismatched bezel is a major change in the original design and iconic design of the Big Bang Limited Edition. The case has been reshaped and the strap has been reworked and now features the classic Sang Bleu case design until the leather strap is completed. The black matte dial does not attract attention to the octagonal and perfect geometric hour and minute hands, more like a rhodium-plated disc. A small arrow filled with Super-LumiNova indicates the time. The middle turntable indicates the number of seconds.
